4 sessions. Al-Kafi is regarded as one of the most comprehensive collections of traditions from the formative period of Shi‘i scholarship. Sheikh al-Kulayni compiled traditions from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his family into 35 books and more than 15,000 traditions making it a primary source for the Shia since the beginning of the Occultation of the Imam (AS).
